PACE — Pea Ridge Elementary’s readers now have a new option for finding a book.

A "Little Library" was dedicated on Friday, Aug. 19, just outside the school gates. Parents and students can visit the site any time to borrow, trade or donate books for local students.

Another Little Library was erected in front of the Santa Rosa School Board office through the efforts of the district's Language Arts Coordinator, Patti Petrie.

Pea Ridge joined in the literacy initiative to serve additional students and families in the Pace area.

Knowing that reading widely and often is the key to success, Pea Ridge students have been challenged to read every day, for pleasure and fun.

Pea Ridge Principal Dana Fleming and media specialist Michelle Barlow are hopeful that the new Little Library will keep books in the hands of students throughout the school year, as well as the summer months.
