Santa Rosa Woman’s Club sets educational luncheon

GULF BREEZE — The GFWC Santa Rosa Woman's Club will kick off another year of educational luncheon programs and volunteer opportunities.

The meeting — 10:30 a.m. Sept. 6 at Tiger Point Golf Club — will feature guest speaker Donovan York, a senior at Gulf Breeze High School.

Donovan is dual enrolled at Pensacola State College, and is a member of the GBHS Health Academy, a group of students (25 each year) working toward a future in health care. He will speak on his experiences as a student in the GBHS Health Academy and as a teenage volunteer at Gulf Breeze Hospital.

Wendy Brandon, president of the Gulf Breeze Hospital Auxiliary and the Santa Rosa Woman’s Club education chair, organized the program along with committee members Martha Brenenstahl, Shari Fulford, Betsye Haddock and Sue Parker.

The SRWC will collect index cards, 3-inch binders, folders and dividers for middle school and high school needs during the meeting.
