Conquerors and Jaguars go the distance

West Florida Baptist Conquerors’ Brittany Lyons gives a middle attack against Central.

MILTON — Central Jaguars hosted the West Florida Baptist Conquerors in volleyball.

The Lady Conquerors jumped out on top 25-20, but the Jaguars responded big with a 25-12 set 2 victory.

The Conquerors rebounded in the 3rd 25-21, as did the Jaguars in the 4th 25-23. The final set ended 15-12 in favor of the Lady Conquerors.

Makenna Hartman led the Conquerors with 11 kills, 3 aces, and 36 service receptions.

The Junior Varsity Conquerors were victorious as well in straight sets, 25-17, 25-16. Laney Fanugao and Maddie Whiting each had 4 kills while Allie Whiting recorded 8 aces from the service line.

The Lady Conquerors recently visited Aletheia Christian Lions in Pensacola. Scores were as follows:

Varsity wins: 25-7, 25-13, 25-1

JV wins: 25-13, 25-9.

Highlights included Hartman's 10 kills, Taylor Lunsford's 8 aces and A. Whiting's 14 aces.
