Jay High contest to support literacy

(Special to the Press Gazette)

JAY — Jay High School alumni and future alumni will compete in “Clash of the Classes” during the Oct. 21 Homecoming Game.

Starting at kick-off, Royal fans can donate funds representing their respective classes (1966-2029). All donations benefit Jay High School’s Royal Reads Program and will be used to:

  • Build and establish a Little Free Library in Jay to provide community access to books
  • Purchase books and materials for school-wide literacy initiatives
  • Establish a reading partnership program between Jay High and Jay Elementary

Running tallies and updates will be given throughout the game. The class that donates the most will have their graduation year engraved on the Little Free Library’s sign.
