Attendees of the 7th annual Festival of Trees, benefiting Santa Rosa Kids’ House, can bid on old windows painted by local artists.

Majors Home Improvement in Milton will provide almost 20 windows — removed during home improvement projects — on which local artists can show their creativity, marketing manager Andrea Sutrick said.

Sutrick said she got the idea from her mother-in-law.

“I thought this was a good way we could use an old window and make something beautiful,” she said.

Artists’ work will be auctioned Nov. 19 during the Santa Rosa Kids’ House Festival of Trees at the Imogene Theatre in downtown Milton. Attendees can bid on their favorite window from 7:30-9:30 p.m. during a silent auction.

Auctioning locally painted windows is a first for the event, according to Keith Ann Campbell, Kids’ House executive director.

Event and auction proceeds will go toward therapy sessions and assistance for children in the program, Campbell said.
