MILTON — Milton residents can expect a new business in the Six Flags Shopping Center: Harbor Freight Tools is under construction.

Here is what you need to know:

1. It’s opening soon. A soft opening is set Nov. 22 and a grand opening is Nov. 30, according to a city media release. The Milton location will be the 59th Harbor Freight Tools Store in Florida, according to the release. The closest Harbor Freight Tools location is on East Nine Mile Road in Pensacola.

2. A new business means more jobs. City Manager Brian Watkins expects Harbor Freight to bring almost 40 jobs to Milton.

3. It will help fill a void. “Harbor Freight will provide sales within the city that may have gone elsewhere. It will provide jobs and occupy unused space,” Councilman Jimmy Messick said. “Harbor Freight Tools will bring a different type of retail sales to our community.”

4. Expect quality tools at a lower price. The company’s website states that Harbor Freight’s more than 700 stores nationwide can offer lower prices because they manufacture products at the same factories as the expensive brands.

"We cut out the middleman and pass along the savings to our customers," Harbor Feight Tools President Eric Smidt said. "At Harbor Freight, we're all about delivering high-quality tools at ridiculously low prices."

5. You can find various types of tools. Harbor Freight Tools offers more than 7,000 tools and accessories, including power tools, generators, automotive tools and accessories and welding accessories along with yard items.
