MILTON — Today is the last day to vote in this year's election. Despite chilly, rainy weather, voters left Milton City Hall, the precinct 8 voting location, bearing "I voted" stickers.

Ladawnya Hyman said she voted because she has the right "as a black woman.

"Back in the day, they did a lot to get us the right to vote," she said. "It would be disrespectful if I didn't. If you're looking for a change in your town, how do you get it if you don't vote?"

Chad Merkle said he doesn't feel he has much voice in American democracy, but said it was important to vote anyway.

"If you don't vote, it's like saying 'I don't care what happens.'"

Merkle said voting can affect not only the voter but also the next generation. "You have to take that into consideration."

Have you voted yet? If not, find the polling place on your voter registration card. You can still vote until 7 p.m. tonight, and even if you're in line right at 7 p.m., they have to let you vote.

Voters need to have identification such as a driver's license and provide their signature.
