BIRMINGHAM — Sarah Grace Betts, of Navarre, was recognized during the annual White Coat Ceremony sponsored by Samford University's McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
Betts is one of 99 members of the Class of 2020 who received the symbolic white coat. The traditional ceremony marks the beginning of students' pharmacy studies.
In August, the class began a four-year professional curriculum that leads to a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. The students completed two or more years of undergraduate coursework before entering pharmacy school.
