MILTON — East Milton Elementary teacher Caroline Trussell has been awarded a $2,500 educational grant as part of Farmers Insurance’s Thank America’s Teachers program.

Trussell’s grant will go toward the purchase of additional laptops for her students. These will allow them to continue their work in online programs that focus on closing the gap between their learning levels and being on grade level.

Trussell is among the third group of 60 winners to receive a $2,500 educational grant through the Farmers Insurance Thank America’s Teachers national program in 2016.

Across the nation, teachers submitted proposals for funding during the first three rounds of submissions via the ThankAmericasTeachers.com website.

Through Thank America’s Teachers, Farmers will give away more than $1 million to educators in 2016. The public helps determine who receives the grants at www.ThankAmericasTeachers.com.
