MILTON — American Red Cross volunteers responded to a fire Dec. 7 on the 6400 block of Appaloosa Avenue in Milton.
Four people — including two adults and two children — were provided financial assistance to help with temporary lodging and to replace necessities lost in the fire like food, clothing and medications.
The Red Cross responds to help a family affected by a home fire every eight minutes, according to a Red Cross media release.
American Red Cross of Northwest Florida covers the 10 northwest counties of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton Holmes, Washington, Bay Jackson Calhoun and Gulf.
