National Public Lands Day
MILTON — Join the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for National Public Lands Day Bog Frog Habitat Restoration at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at Yellow River Wildlife Management Area in the Milton/Holt area. Help biologists restore habitat for the Florida Bog Frog, a state threatened species.
Cold Water River Cleanup
MILTON — Join the Blackwater Pyrates for their semi-annual river cleanup at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. The Pyrates will provide large trash bags and transportation from Pucker Point. Radio Control Flying Park
JAY — The grand opening of the Santa Rosa County Fallen Hero Memorial Radio Control Flying Park takes place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 22. There will be helicopters, planes, drones and cars as well as hot dogs and hamburgers and drinks with a donation suggested. There will be static displays, instructions, radio control air shows, military vehicles and hot rods. Location is at the Jay Transfer Station Road off 89 South of Jay. Forcade House Marker Dedication
BAGDAD — 10 a.m. Oct. 13 there will be a historic marker dedication at the Forcade House, 6865 Allen St. in Bagdad. The Forcade House in Bagdad will have a Florida Heritage Landmark Marker dedication and 100-year celebration. The event will include the plaque unveiling and reading of the marker text, a short tour of some of the home's interior woodwork, and a special surprise restored piece of equipment dating back to the Bagda Mill circa 1870. NAVARRE — Craft vendors are needed for the upcoming 2018 Navarre Car, Truck, Bike & Craft Show on Oct. 13 at Navarre High School. This one-day event brings motorized exhibits and visitors from across north Florida. Last years show had 140 exhibits.
The crafter entry form is available at www.navarrecarshow.com. The entry fee is $35 payable by check or PayPal. The craft space is 10-by-10. There is no electricity available on site.
The Pirates on the Panhandle are hosting the show to benefit Navarre High School and other Pirate charities in the community.

Pensacola Coast Guild Auxiliary Vessel Safety Check
MILTON — The Pensacola Coast Guild Auxiliary is holding a free wessel safety check on September 22 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Mahogany Mill Boat Ramp in Pensacola. This is open to the public, covering all types of boats. Boats satisfactorily completing the check will recieve a decal. There is no penalty if a boat does not pass according to the guild.
