1. LEARN ALL ABOUT LAWN CARE. Experts from the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Santa Rosa County Extension Office will offer a spring lawn-care class. The session, free to attend without pre-registration, is at 10 a.m. Feb. 17 at the Gulf Breeze Public Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze. 2. ENJOY THE BEATS. Pace Band Boosters will host the Winter Guard International Patriot Classic 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 18 at Pace High, 4065 Norris Road in Pace. This event will feature indoor guard and percussion units from over 40 schools in the region. Admission is $10. All money earned will go back into the Pace High School band program.
3. WRITE A LETTER FOR A CHILD. The nonprofit organization Camp Fire Gulf Wind Inc., will hold a letter-writing event 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 18 at Cordova Mall, 5100 N. 9th Ave., in Pensacola. The event supports the 20th annual Absolutely Incredible Kid Day. Camp Fire Gulf Wind will deliver the letters March 16 to kindergarten through sixth-grade students in selected schools in Escambia and Santa Rosa County. March 3 is the deadline to submit letters.
