No explosives found at Santa Rosa courthouse

MILTON — Law enforcement officials purportedly found no suspicious objects at the Santa Rosa County Courthouse, which received a bomb threat Thursday morning.

Someone called in the threat around 9:30 a.m. to the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office. The courthouse initially received a postal letter containing the threat.

Courthouse staffers then evacuated the building and were told not to return until roughly 2 p.m., according to SRSO Public Information Officer Rich Aloy.

The Press Gazette asked Aloy for more details on the person who called in the threat, such as the caller’s sex. He said he had no information to release on the caller.

In addition to the sheriff’s office, Eglin Air Force Base bomb-sniffing dogs aided the investigation, which resulted in no discovery of explosives.
