U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz presented District 3 Commissioner Don Salter with a Congressional Record at the Feb. 23 board meeting, recognizing his service to the community.
Salter, a decorated veteran, has worked to support the military and veterans in northwest Florida, serving on the BRAC committees and spearheading the Joint Land Use Study to prevent encroachment on military airfields. In addition, Salter helped raise more than $1,000,000 for the Veterans Memorial Plaza in Milton.
He is currently Santa Rosa County's longest-sitting commissioner and represents the residents of the north end of the county.
