Dan Schebler has joined Santa Rosa County in the new position of assistant county administrator.
Schebler was selected from more than 50 candidates. He will assist the county administrator in planning, developing and directing major programs and projects.
Additionally, his responsibilities will include carrying out county commissioners’ directions, policies, orders, resolutions, ordinances and regulations.
Schebler formerly served as a deputy program director and project manager at the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment. He retired from active duty with the U.S. Navy in 2015 after 27 years, serving as a captain and naval flight officer.
He holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master's in national security strategy from the National War College.
He is the recipient of several military awards for his performance and various tours of duty.
