MILTON — The Milton City Council is investigating how to reduce traffic at the intersection of Glover Lane and Hamilton Bridge Road; congestion at the intersection has grown over the years.

The intersection serves two subdivisions and sits between U.S. Highway 90 and Berryhill Road, with few north-south connections between those roads. Neither shoulder is paved.

City staffers are considering a roundabout for the intersection but there is concern over drivers acclimating to the new traffic setup, according to Mayor Wesley Meiss.

City council staffers want to work with Santa Rosa County officials to have a traffic study in the area.

Councilman Jeff Snow made a motion, with a second from Councilman Alan Lowery, to move forward with the item during Monday’s council meeting.

This signals the staff to contact the county regarding such a study, according to City Manager Brian Watkins.
