Gulf Breeze tops in 30th Annual Math Bowl

NICEVILLE — High school teams from across Northwest Florida competed in the 30th annual Math Bowl March 3 at Northwest Florida State College.

After a daylong competition consisting of written exams and ciphering matches, an awards ceremony was held for the event’s team and individual winners.

Team winners are as follows.

  • Class X, 1st: Chipley, 2nd: South Walton, 3rd: Port St. Joe
  • Class Y, 1st: Gulf Breeze, 2nd: Rutherford, 3rd: Pensacola Catholic
  • Class Z, 1st: Chiles, 2nd: Rickards, 3rd: Lincoln

Individual winners are as follows.

  • Class X, 1st: Braxton Bibbs (South Walton), 2nd: Taylor Munroe (Chipley), 3rd: Jordan Nichols (South Walton)
  • Class Y, 1st: Kate Manning (Pensacola Catholic), 2nd: Marco Krasnosky (Gulf Greeze), Katelyn Hestad (Rutherford)
  • Class Z, 1st: Graham O’Donnell (Lincoln), 2nd: Andrew Yang (Chiles), 3rd: Brandon Chyi (Chiles)

This year’s event was made possible through a partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory of Eglin Air Force Base.
