Gulf Breeze will get its very first Popeyes fast-food chicken restaurant this year.
A spokesman with the company confirmed to the News Journal Wednesday that a Popeyes currently being built at 3716 Gulf Breeze Parkway, just west of Tiger Point, should be open for business by the fall of 2020.
The new Popeyes is replacing a former Raceway gas station.
The development order was approved in January for an 8,700-square-foot restaurant, according to the list of approved land development projects listed on the Santa Rosa County website.
The Popeyes will be located just across the street from a Starbucks and a sweetFrog frozen yogurt shop.
