Hawaiian Luau fundraiser
The Holley Navarre Seniors Center will have a fundraiser for center events 4-7 p.m. July 27 at the center, 8476 Gordon Goodin Lane. Tickets for adults are $25 ($20 for carry out); and $9 for children age 12 and younger. It includes authentic Hawaiian food prepared by native Angela Zangerle, music by the Island Brothers, and dancers from the Time to Dance Studio. "Three Fables" play
The Panhandle Community Theatre is performing the play “Three Fables,” adapted by Robert R. Lehan from "Aesop's Fables." Performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Fridays and at 2:30 p.m. Sundays Aug. 1-11 at PCT, 4646 Woodbine Road, Pace. The cast of actors, ages 7-14, will be featured in three timeless stories from Aesop. Tickets are $10 for ages 2-10, free for younger children (must sit in parents' laps) and $15 for all others. Homecoming celebration
Cora Baptist Church will host a a homecoming celebration for its 110th year of establishment. Worship services start 10 a.m. Aug. 4 at 12953 Chumuckla Hwy, Jay, with Brother LaDon Hall as guest speaker. The Smith Family Singers will perform in concert at 11 a.m. A meal will follow in the church fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Gardening Short Course North 2019
Florida Federation Of Garden Clubs event is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 8 and 9 at Santa Rosa Extension Services, 6263 Dogwood Drive, Milton. This year's theme: "Everything I Love," featuring topics on birds, butterflies, gardening edibles, and environmental issues. Has optional program on floral design techniques from 3-4 p.m. Cost: $5 for non-club members and $50 for garden club members. Lunch is included. Gardening Welcome Back Social
Azalea Garden Club will kick off the new garden club year with a social event 1-3 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Pace Fire Department conference room, 4773 Pace Patriot Blvd. Returning members may meet and welcome guests and new members, catch up on news and get an overview of the upcoming year's program topics, field trips and opportunities for learning and community involvement. Tobacco cessation class
Tobacco Free Florida will have a Tools to Quit class 5-7 p.m. Nov. 29 and Dec. 13 at 5527 Stewart St., Milton. Preregistration is required. Call 398-6965 to reserve a spot. The class is free. For those 18 years old and older, if medically appropriate, the Florida Department of Health offers free nicotine replacement patches, lozenges and gum. It also offers free community, worksite and clinic groups.
Florida Friendly Landscaping Principles Class
Learn about the right timing and methods for fertilizing and weed control, proper irrigation, and other lawn practices from Mary Salinas, Santa Rosa County Extension Office. No pre-registration is required.
