Growth and Development: Good or Bad?

Dear editor,

Santa Rosa County’s commissioners are elected by the resident voters who live here.  But who do they work for?

The commissioners know our main roads are choked and our local schools are filled to capacity. Still, they continually insist that impact fees would inhibit growth and that growth is good!

Truth is, re-election campaigns cost a lot of money and builders and developers are the county commissioners’ best contributors. So who is your district commissioner working for; you or the developers who pay his way come election time?

Think about it.  When your roads and schools are badly overcrowded, growth isn’t good – it’s evil.
