MILTON — Steve and Linda Desruisseux have longed contributed to the Milton economy with multiple business ventures, including Stevie's Sports Pub and Eatery. Now, after years of what he called, "retirement" Deruisseux is back with an all new venture, Stevie D's An Event Place.

The venue is located at 6410 Highway 90, the location of Deruisseux's old pub. Newly renovated, it will be able host weddings, family celebrations, holiday-themed parties, corporate events, and sports events according to Deruisseux. The venue can hold up to 125 people. It has two stages, an outdoor Tiki bar as well an indoor bar, pool tables, televisions, and an onsite DJ and event facilitator. The venue will also have bride and groom's quarters for wedding parties, he said, in the near future.

Deruisseux's goal is to offer people seeking an event space a cost-efficient place with character.

"We wanted to be in a market that had not been reached yet," he said. "You go to [some places] and it is just a big open room that is cold and uninviting."

Derruisseux also said this venue will mark one of only three event venues in the area allowing alcohol.

"It's a bring-your-own-beer [place]," he said.

Jeannine St. Onge, manager and DJ for the venue said the goal is to provide exceptional service and attend to all their clients needs.

"We offer a list of local, qualified, professional vendors to help with your planning," she said. "We have customized packages to work within every budget. We are on point when it comes to making sure that every detail is attended to."

To welcome the residents of Santa Rosa County, Stevie D's will host an open house this evening from 7 – 11 p.m. at the venue. Derriusseux said guests can bring their own alcoholic beverages. Food will be provided.

"We will have snacks and DJ Jeannine will be playing your favorite dance tunes to get your happy feet moving," he said.
