MILTON — United Way of Santa Rosa ended another year of Toys for Tots on a positive note according to campaign director Ron Denson and administrator Kyle Holley.
"We are excited to bring back increased services to our community through the United Way like Toys for Tots," Holley said. "These drives allow us to encourage struggling parents to keep working, trying to improve the outcomes for their families."
According to Denson, this year, 359 families and 1,024 children in the country were served through the Toys for Tots program.
"I am humbled in seeing the tremendous outpour we saw from the Santa Rosa County residents in volume of donated gifts we received for the Toys for Tots program this year," Denson said. "Being able to see that faces of the parents as they walked about selecting a couple of toys for their children was so much more heartwarming."
As part of toys donated for the event, Denson said bicycles were donated from the Friends of Bear organization.
Holley said as UWSRC looks toward the future they want to focus on expanding their services to the community.
