Dear editor,
Well Mr. President, you’ve shut down the government for all of us. All this because you lied about Mexico funding a wall that is more symbolic than effective. It turns out that 270 million Americans have to be negatively affected by this ridiculous campaign promise but otherwise beautifully executed performance by you on the need for a wall. Yet, I feel sure that the other 62 million Americas that voted for you are no doubt thrilled by you shutting down the government and are probably just waiting in the wings to help you cover for your enthusiastic and exaggerated lie.
In fact, this opens a new way to fund the wall. Do you realize that if all of your 62 million supporters would just send in $100 each, that a fund of 6.2 billion dollars would be collected? I think after the best idea of having Mexico fund the wall, this is the second-best idea for the funding. Your pride could stay intact and your base would love you for completing your campaign vision and the government could temporarily reopen. (Temporarily??)
Well, wait a minute, the WHOLE wall you proposed would cost $30 billion. So, the down payment would be the $6.2 billion. Your base would have to fork over another $400 apiece to complete the entire wall. But, this would save the USA Treasury from paying for the entire wall and save all the USA money for useful projects. (I know, if the base wouldn’t pay it all, you’d have to shut down the government again.)
Some other ideas on the wall, Mr. President: 1. Convince Mexico to build the wall on their northern border — it’s OK if its called the Mexican Wall instead of the Trump Wall because we won’t pay, but mission accomplished. 2. Convince China to build the wall for America and America can pay them back out of reduced tariffs (You know you are the best deal maker in the world). 3. Get a “0” percent loan from the UN to build the wall and pay them back with USA surplus funds as soon as our $22 trillion debt is paid off. (This could prove your deal making expertise).
Come on Mr. President let’s get the Government open soon to accomplish things our country really needs to start solving.
