Navarre restaurant owners, residents donate nearly 1,000 toys to Bay County

NAVARRE — Escorted by Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office deputies, Navarre citizens traveled to Bay County a few days before Christmas to donate truckloads of toys to Bay County.

"The Bay County Sheriff's Office is overwhelmed by the generosity of Rob and Inez Reyes, owners of Stripes Pub and Grill in Navarre, and the people of Navarre," the Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post Dec. 20.

The donated toys and bikes were for Project 25, the Bay County Sheriff's Office annual toy drive. Many other donors brought toys to the Sheriff's Office's Project 25 toy store, including Emerald Coast RV, Sonny's Barbecue, Sysco, Back Beach Barbecue, Charlie Commander of Century 21 Realty, GraybaR, Miss High School America, Florida Department of Law Enforcement Fusion Center, and many others.

The latest donation from Navarre is enough to supply 996 children with toys for Christmas.
