PACE — Citizens of central Santa Rosa County interested in joining the Air Force don't have to travel far to speak to a representative thanks to a recently opened recruiting office in Pace. Air Force recruiter Sgt. Matthew Benenhaley said he is eager for anyone interested to come to the office located at 4221 US-90 Suite B.
Benenhaley said the 331st recruiting squadron is commanded by Lt. Col. Grant M. Fowler. He said the squadron covers a 120,000 square-mile area including Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana.
"The office has essentially been closed for the past several years," Benenhaley said. "It was operating briefly as a line officer recruiting office. However, 2015 was around the last time that is was used as an enlisted accessions office. It is now open again and looking for hard-charging, motivated individuals to enlist and join the next generation of great American Airmen!"
