MILTON — As the holiday season approaches, Milton prepares for the seasonal festivities and city council wants to get in on the festivities.
At the latest city council meeting, Councilwomen Sharon Holley proposed to the council the idea of sending out Christmas cards for the brick and mortar businesses of the city.
"We have never done that before," Holley said. "We have all these businesses out here and I think we should send out a nice card to them."
Holley said that while she realizes sending cards to every person in the businesses would not be realistic, she believes that businesses would appreciate receiving the cards and would show that the council cares.
Councilmen Jeff Snow and Casey Powell both gave their support saying, "it is a great idea."
The council made a motion and approved the idea. They said they were looking forward to holiday season and to the future for Milton.
