MILTON — The 2018 general election is over and the votes are in. Here are the unofficial results from the Santa Rosa County Supervisor of Elections Office.
Voter statistics:
- Registered voters: 132,484
- Ballots cast: 76,103
- Voter turnout: 57.44 percent
Milton City Mayor:
- Heather Lindsay won with 53.91 percent of the votes.
- Wesley Meiss lost with 46.09 percent of the votes.
Milton City Council Ward 1:
- Heather Hathaway won with 58.83 percent of the votes.
- Jimmy D. Messick lost with 41.17 percent of the votes.
Milton City Council Ward 2:
- Shannon Rice won with 39.67 percent of the votes.
- Pam Curvin Mitchell lost with 39.43 percent of the votes.
- David Farrow lost with 20.90 of the votes.
Milton City Council Ward 3:
- George Jordan won with 50.91 percent of the votes.
- Alan Lowery lost with 49.09 percent of the votes.
Milton City Council Ward 4:
- Sharon Holley won with 63.87 percent of the votes.
- Shari Sebastiao lost with 36.13 percent of the votes.
County Commissioner:
- Bob Cole (REP) won with 72.93 percent of the votes.
- Kris Long (NPA) lost with 27.07 percent of the votes.
State Representative, Dist. 3:
- Jayer Williamson (REP) won with 77.71 percent of the votes.
- Bobbi Osborne (NPA) lost with 22.29 percent of the votes.
Long thanked everyone who voted and supported him and said it was a good, clean race.
"We had 20,000 voters vote for us," Long said. "We were very excited about that. This is not the end; it is only the beginning."
Cole thanked everyone for their support and votes. He said he's looking forward to another term.
Newly elected city mayor Heather Lindsay said she is "humbled and grateful to serve the city as its mayor."
