Lady Conquerors end season with semi-final loss

DAYTON, Tenn. — The 2018 volleyball season concluded last week for the Lady Conquerors of West Florida Baptist Academy. Their Panhandle Christian Conference ended with a straight set, semi-final victory over Central Christian of Robertsdale, Ala. and a split set (1-3) loss to Trinitas Knights of Pensacola in the Conference Championship.

After conference play, the squad traveled to Dayton, Tenn., to participate in the National Association of Christian Athletes' (NACA) tournament. Their pool play results were 2-0 straight set victories over Christian Academy of Madison, Ind. and Griffin Christian of Griffin, GA, 1-1 split sets with Cumberland Valley Christian of Chambersburg, Penn., Hearts for Jesus of North Olmsted, Onio, and straight set losses 0-2 to KACHEA of Kingsport, Tenn. and Beach Breakers of Virginia Beach, VA. Pool play resulted in a 3rd seed in Division II for the Lady Conquerors.

On the final day in bracket play, WFBA lost in the quarter-finals in a re-match with Hearts 25-18, 23-25, and 12-15. WFBA sophomore Allie Whiting was selected to the D2 All-Tournament team.
