MILTON — Santa Rosa County Tax Collector Stan Nichols, since taking office in 2009, has regularly returned his office’s unspent revenue.
“One of the great pleasures of serving as your Santa Rosa Tax Collector," Nichols said, "is to return to the Board its proportionate share of the unspent revenues generated by the operations of our office.”
Nichols returned $583,106.19 to the county Oct. 25. The Board of County Commissioners, three fire districts and the Northwest Florida Water Management District receive shares of those funds:
- Board of County Commissioners — $565,007.86
- Holley/Navarre Fire District — $7,386.14
- Avalon Fire District — $1,546.87
- Midway Fire District — $8,344.74
