City of Milton holds annual Domestic Violence Awareness ceremony

MILTON — On Oct. 22 members of the Milton City Council, Naval Air Station Whiting Field, Favor House, Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office and the Milton Police Department joined together to bring awareness to domestic violence at the fountain in downtown Milton.

Mayor Wesley Meiss said he was grateful to everyone who came. Sheriff Bob Johnson and police chief Tony Tindell both said they have seen domestic violence become a growing issue in law enforcement.

Meiss, Johnson, and Tindell, signed a proclamation honoring the event as well as Lauren Anzaldo, Fleet and Family Support Services, NASWF Commanding Officer Paul Bowdich, NASWF Executive Officer Jim Brownlee, and Sue Hand, Favor House.
