Republican Executive Committee holds turkey shoot fundraiser

CHUMUCKLA — The Santa Rosa County Republican Executive Committee held a turkey shoot fundraiser in September at Blue Gill Bait and Tackle in Chumuckla. Treasurer David Farrow organized the event, which netted the Committee over $1300.

A "turkey shoot" is a shooting contest where prizes are awarded for a shot closest to the bulls eye of a paper target. Animals are not harmed during the event. 

The grand prize, a Remington 16-gauge shotgun, Martin Simmons won. The shotgun was a donation from Scott’s Furniture, Appliance and Sporting Goods and by Farrow. Chelsea Alexander won the second prize, a $250 gift certificate to Gulf Coast Gun Chairman Mary Golden donated.

The Santa Rosa County Republican Executive Committee monthly meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at Grover T's, 5887 Highway 90, Milton. Attendees order from the menu and pay as they go. Meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. 

SRC-REC is a political organization and conducts the business of the local Republican Party. Its members are elected precinct committeemen and committeewomen to promote the election of Republican candidates.
