MILTON — The Blackwater Pyrates are having their semi-annual river clean-up this Saturday, Sept. 22 on the Cold Water Creek. The public is invited to join the Pyrates.

They will put in at the bridge across from Bob's Canoes on Munson Highway. The crew will put in by 9 a.m. Everyone will take their vehicles down to Pucker Point, just below where Cold Water joins Blackwater River. They’ll drop off their canoes, kayaks dingies, rafts, whatever floats at the bridge. They’ll drive their vehicles to Pucker Point and get a ride from a Pyrate to go back to the bridge by 8:45 a.m.

Many Pyrates will be there to float downstream picking up trash and stop at every sandbar to do the same.

Long grabbers and river shoes are recommended.

The Pyrates we will supply large trash bags, and shuttle from Pucker Point to the bridge. Join the Pyrates for a great day on the river. It takes between six and eight hours to finish, so bring suntan lotion, and a sandwich or other food.
