MILTON — The Vestcor Companies announced today that Carter Crossing, their newest property in Milton, is now open. Residents first moved in on Aug. 1, and the community is already 63 percent occupied. Carter Crossing is accepting lease applications with 20 percent of units still available for seniors.
"This is our second senior affordable community in northwest Florida, and we are thrilled to be a part of the Milton community," said TVC Development President Ryan Hoover. "We are proud to have developed this beautiful community which will provide quality housing and daily activities to ensure an active and social environment for our residents."
Carter Crossing is a 93-unit affordable senior community, which includes a fitness center, living room, activity room with a kitchen, movie room, courtyard pavilion with grills for use, outdoor gardens, butterfly garden, dog park, wi-fi in the common area and the option of a studio unit and one or two-bedroom units. Monthly rates are $623 for a studio, $664 for one-bedroom and $798 for two-bedroom units.
Development of affordable housing is a major priority for Vestcor, who own 22 affordable housing communities across the state. The units at Carter Crossing are income-restricted and reserved for those who make less than 60 percent of the area median income. 11 percent of units are reserved for those who make less than 40 percent of area median income.
