No religious test

Dear editor, 

The leftist, socialist Democrats have falsely claimed that "no religious test" can be applied for the purpose of immigration decisions even if those entering our nation believe in Islamic Sharia Law.

Sharia Law punishments go directly against the Eighth Amendment statement of "nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted" not to mention "prohibiting the free exercise thereof" in regards to any religion. But Sharia Law only recognizes Islam and calls for the death of others having a different religious faith.

The last sentence of Article VI in our Constitution reads; "but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States," and this includes our supreme Court Justices.

I thought every elected official took an oath to defend our Constitution. I'd be happy if leftist Democrats in office took an oath that they just read and understand our Constitution. But if Democrats don't understand the words "is", "no" or "shall not be infringed" is there really any hope for the party as it moves further to the left wanting to become socialist Venezuela, Cuba, etc. and must violate our Constitution for this accomplishment?
