PACE — A new Pace business combines elements of kickboxing to give its members 30-minute fitness training. 9Round 30 Minute Kickbox Fitness is located at 4579 Watkins Street.

Professional kickboxer Shannon Hudson and his wife, Heather founded 9Round in 2008. It is a specialized fitness center that brings kickboxing training to the average person in a 30-minute, full-body circuit format. The program operates around a proprietary and copyrighted system of nine workout stations.

At 9Round, there are not set class times and members are free to come and go whenever they want during business hours. The workout routines are changed daily to help keep the members engaged and a nutrition plan is included. Members are given the experience of a personal trainer during their workouts.

Local residents Jennifer Osburn and her husband, Kelly, own and operate the Pace center. Jennifer said the couple became 9Round franchisees because the two wanted to be their own boss and take advantage of of 9Round’s award-winning franchising model.

They started their fitness journey two years ago and Jennifer said they were amazed with the results.

“We fell in love with getting healthy,” Jennifer said.

The couple hopes their business will have a positive impact on their local community.

“Our small community has nothing like 9Round, and people are so excited to have something different that they actually enjoy doing on their own time,” Osburn said. “The unique format keeps them coming back, which is huge for those that haven't been able to stick with other workouts.”
