Santa Rosa Neighborhood Softball League

SANTA ROSA COUNTY — Tim Sousa is organizing a neighborhood softball league. Sousa and organizers are looking for coaches and players to represent their neighborhoods and communities during the spring and early summer months.

The league would consist of neighborhood teams who will compete against one another in a friendly team environment. Email timesousa76@gmail.com for more information.

Living Water for Nicaragua

GULF BREEZE — At 6 p.m. June 29 at the Gulf Breeze Community Center on Shoreline Park there will be a fish fry, a raffle with prizes, live music and a water slide. Tickets are $10 each, two for $18, three for $24 and four for $28. All proceeds will go to the continuation of water sanitation work and education improvements in Asseradores, Nicaragua.

Perritt family reunion

PACE — The 45th Stewart-Perritt family reunion is set for 11 a.m. June 30 at the Pace community Center, 5976. Lunch is served at 1 p.m. and festivities include fellowship, games and the playground. The center provides tables, chairs and ice. Bring covered dishes, non-alcoholic beverages and photos. Call 994-7013 or 206-4547 for more information.

Christian band to perform

PACE — Multi-Dove Award winning and Grammy nominated recording artist, The Nelons will perform at 5 p.m. June 30 at the Pace Assembly of God, located at 3948 Highway 90 in Pace. There is no cost to attend.

Navarre July 4 celebration

NAVARRE — The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce presents the first Hometown 4th of July Parade and Celebration on Navarre Beach co-hosted by the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Office on  July 4 in Navarre Beach Park.

The event will kick-off with a Picnic in the Park via Navarre Chamber member food trucks dishing out all kind of great street eats while everyone enjoys a beautiful day and evening on Navarre Beach. 

Babies, toddlers and children up to age 12 can take part in the children's parade. Parade Registration begins at 5 p.m. and is $5 per family. Pre-registration is not necessary. Children may dress up and use bicycles, wagons, strollers, small battery motorized play vehicles or walk, and they are encouraged to be creative. The parade and an all the fun begins at 6 p,m. There will be an old-fashioned candy store and photo booth.

Pensacola Numismatic Society Annual Coin Show

MILTON — From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday August 4 and 5 the Pensacola Numismatic Society Annual Coin Show will take place at the Santa Rosa Auditorium, 4530 Spikes Way in Milton. The event is free. The Boys Scout Troop 427 of Milton will have food for sell both days. Call Bob Thomas, president at 850-287-1806 for more information.

Radio Control Flying Park

JAY — The grand opening of the Santa Rosa County Fallen Hero Memorial Radio Control Flying Park takes place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. September 22. There will be helicopters, planes, drones and cars as well as hot dogs and hamburgers and drinks with a donation suggested. There will be static displays, instructions, radio control air shows, military vehicles and hot rods. Location is at the Jay Transfer Station Road off 89 South of Jay. Relay for Life

The signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life for the Milton and Pace area takes place 6 p.m. to midnight Nov. 16 at the Pensacola State College Milton campus, 5988 Highway 90.
