Questioning government motives

Dear editor,

Clairen Reese's letter was and is a very good attempt at a needed peace offering between opposing forces and the internet trolling that is taking place on all these different internet platforms. A civilized society can only be judged by the civility of its known and unknown participants.

Internet trolls seldom use a name that identifies them personally, or their true out-of-county location, while using personal insults regardless of the falsehood to alter or shutdown legitimate local discussions.

I'm not sure how the Highway 90 expansion became a "racism" issue but it did on a certain local internet platform.

With that said, how do you get seven lanes of traffic through downtown Milton without buying and destroying buildings or dividing the east-west routes?

How do you make Milton a greater tourist attraction than our beaches? Why would you want to make Blackwater River a tourist (the beaches have numerous boardwalks) or water sport activities destination (waterskiing, tubing, etc.) when its size limitations barely accommodate local residents?

Why does the City of Milton regulate through their imposed additional costs who opens with their own investment what type of businesses (industrial not included) in the city? And how do you get one new $7 million dollar two lane bridge when a four lane bridge at the same cost was actually needed?

The answer is the confusion generated by all these local entities and government through their politics for their own personal concerns while new locally owned businesses and the taxpayers pay for these non-commonsense ideas of city grandeur! Why is Pace's grandeur far exceeding Milton's without the said benefits of an incorporated city and council, or these other entities? Maybe they are all failing or not serving the taxpayer!

STEVEN KING
