MILTON — Milton city council has dedicated a boat launch at Russell Harbor Landing in honor of the late city council member Llyod Hinote.

“The city of Milton is proud to honor late Councilman Lloyd Hinote by dedicating the Lloyd Hinote Memorial Boat Launch at Russell Harbor Landing in his honor,” public information officer Pamela Holt said. “The late councilman meant a great deal to our city, community and his friends and family.”

The council chose to dedicate a boat launch to Hinote because they agreed that he was a man who appreciated the environment and outdoors and who loved to fish and hunt.

“He was a man of great integrity and spirit,” Holt said.

Hinote served on the city council for 15 years until his death in November 2016. Hinote was known for making a daily appearance at city hall, while maintaining a good relationship with each of the city’s employees. Following his death the council appointed Sharon Holley to his seat.
