The Santa Rosa Art Association, Inc. has given grants to Santa Rosa County teachers over the past ten years to foster the use of art in classrooms, not just art classes. Teachers of any discipline may apply for the grants and over the years have been used by Spanish teachers, Geometry teachers, History teachers and many other subjects.

This year's grant recipients were Kathleen Tracey of Pace High School, Elizabeth Baer of West Navarre Intermediate, Michelle Thorpe of Milton High School, Amy Frizzell of Rhodes Elementary, Deb Connors of Gulf Breeze High School and Kristen White of East Milton Elementary.

SRAA members were shown the results of the grants at their April meeting. The SRAA has been nurturing art and artists in Santa Rosa County for over fifty years and is open to artist of all mediums. Visit http://www.sraamilton.com for more information.
