MILTON — At the April 19 Milton city council meeting the council approved a plan to begin search for a new city manager. The salary range for the city manager will be between $110,000 and $125,000 per year with an anticipated effective start date between July 1 and July 30.
City Planner Randy Jorgenson said the position will be posted as soon as possible with appropriate agencies.
Council discussed how far outside city limits the city the new manager could live, whether the current 15 miles or five miles. Council members will continue discussion at the May 8 meeting.
Council unanimously approved the proposal. Councilwoman Heather Hathaway was absent from the meeting. Councilwoman Pat Lunsford spoke on former manager, Brian Watkins, the council April 10 voted to terminate.
“Anyone you get is going to be second best," she said.
