MILTON — Christopher Ray, U.S. postal inspector, recently spoke to The Milton Rotary Club about his job.
The job of the postal inspectors is to enforce the laws that defend the nation’s mail system from illegal use and ensure the public’s trust in the mail. They are one of the country’s oldest federal law enforcement agents. Benjamin Franklin founded the agency.
The US postal inspectors are federal law enforcement officers that carry firearms, make arrests and serve search warrants.
Ray also told the club of several scams targeting the elderly.
The Milton Rotary Club meets Tuesdays for lunch at Grover T's BBQ restaurant, 5887 Highway 90.
