‘The little show that could'

PACE — The Panhandle Community Theatre presents “Murder in Green Meadows,” a psychological thriller written by Douglas Post and directed by Bob Monson, through March 4.

“Rarely is a play forced to fold unexpectedly after its third performance due to unavoidable issues,” Monson said. “Rarer yet does it resurrect itself a few times later, this time better than before.”

Last year, “Murder in Green Meadows” first premiered, but the production soon stopped due to unforeseen circumstances with the cast. Now, Brittany Leist and Milan Smith return to their previous roles, and Vicki Wright and Jonathan McIntosh join the cast.

Thomas Devereaux and his wife, Joan, have just moved into their dream house in the quiet suburban town of Green Meadows when they are visited by their new neighbors, Carolyn and Jeff Symons, according to the theatre’s synopsis.

A friendship develops between the two couples, but drama soon unfolds until the final face-off between a murderer and a widow.

“I am just so proud of how hard they have worked and the show they have created,” Ginny Hinton, assistant director, said. “This is truly ‘the little show that could.’ The four actors have formed a tight bond, inside and outside the theatre. Every one of them truly gives his/her all from beginning to end of the show — and it shows.

“The show is fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat fun, and it’s a rare audience member who can anticipate the plot twists.”

The play was produced with the help of Monson as photographer and director, Hinton as assistant director,  Andy Wilkinson as technical director Dean Emerson on lighting and sound, Dean Hinton as stage manager, Ingrid Edge over props, Jennifer Emerson over graphic arts and Gail Ready as technical consultant.
