Learn about area freshwater and wetland environments

MILTON — Learn about the natural resources of Escambia and Santa Rosa County with the county extension agents through the Florida Master Naturalist Program. The FMNP is a hands-on outdoor learning experience for adults that informs and prepares them to share information about area's natural world and environmental history.

The 40-hour class will be held Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 13 through April 24.

The $275-registration includes classroom instruction, field trips and practical interpretive experiences related to the general ecology, habitats, vegetation types, wildlife and conservation issues of local wetland systems. Field trips will include the Yellow River Marsh State Park, Splinter Hill Pitcher Plant Bog, Gull Point Preserve, Arcadia Mill Archeological site, the Mobile-Tensaw Delta and more.
