UWF professor, researcher to speak on Alzheimer's research

PENSACOLA — Clarity Pointe Pensacola, a memory care assisted living community located at 8601 N. Davis Highway, will host a presentation on Alzheimer’s research.

During the seminar — set 5-7 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Hilton Garden Inn Pensacola Airport, located at 1144 Airport Blvd., Pensacola — Dr. Rodney Guttmann will give a scientific overview of Alzheimer’s research, including his studies in disease biomarkers.

Guttmann, a professor of biology and director of Clinical Trials at the University of West Florida, also will discuss the role clinical trials play in finding new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease.

Guests will learn about recent breakthroughs in Alzheimer’s research, as well as how they or a loved one could participate in future trials.
