UWF meeting to focus on race, privilege

PENSACOLA — Race & Reconciliation’s next meeting will focus on "Unpacking Privilege; Reading between the Lines of Black and White." The event is set 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 in the Earl J. Bowden Building located at 120 Church St, Pensacola.

This is the second in a series of three panel discussions sponsored by Race and Reconciliation in conjunction with Stronger Together Northwest Florida.

"In this hands-on workshop we will define privilege and why it matters," an event media release states. "This series of programs is facilitated by the local grassroots organization Stronger Together Northwest Florida, whose mission is to ‘…advocate for and amplify the voices among us who have been historically oppressed.’

Race and Reconciliation is sponsored by the University of West Florida’s Department of Social Work.
