1. LEARN ABOUT BUTTERFLIES. Louise Biernesser and Annie Mcllhenny of Florida Master Gardeners will present a class on butterflies and butterfly gardening 10-11 a.m. Jan. 12 at the Santa Rosa County Extension office, 6263 Dogwood Drive in Milton. Participants will learn how to attract and keep butterflies in their homes and landscapes by providing the right plants and the environment the butterflies need to thrive and reproduce. 2. ATTEND A ROCK CONCERT. The Imogene Theatre will present Palafoxx live in concert 8-10 p.m. Jan. 12 at 6866 Caroline St. in Milton. Palafoxx is a rock band made up of Bradley Mayer and Robert Goodspeed on vocals, Erik Griser on bass, CJ Castilloon on guitar and Josh Holt on drums. 3. GO FOR A BIKE RIDE. Truly Spokin’ Bike Shop will host the inaugural Hard Scrabbler, a no-drop half-century through the Blackwater River State Park, benefiting Fit For Hope. Bikers will gather 8:30 a.m. Jan. 13 at Truly Spokin', 5172 Stewart St. in Milton for coffee before setting out for a 52-mile trip on paved bike paths, open roads and a 5.5-mile section of red brick road. The group will gather at miles 21 and 38 where there will be refilling stations. Post-ride beers will be provided. Registration will be open at www.hardscrabbler.com until Jan. 10, after which riders will be asked to register the morning of the event.
