Solid waste disposal rates increase in 2018

MILTON — Solid waste disposal fees will receive an increase per ton in 2018 at the central landfill, 6337 Da Lisa Road in Milton.

The $1 per ton rate increases apply to Class 1 (residential garbage) and Class III (construction and demolition debris) waste pursuant to Santa Rosa County ordinance 2016-37.

Fees for asbestos disposal, mobile homes and large boats also have increased.

The new rates, which take effect Jan. 1, will be $38 per ton for Class 1 and $36 per ton for Class III.

The central landfill is closed New Year's Day and will open for normal hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
