MILTON — A Milton woman died in a car accident at approximately 1 a.m. Dec. 4 on Willard Norris Road near Emerald Forrest Drive.
Chery Leigh Barnes, 55, of Milton was driving a 2003 Chevy Trail Blazer eastbound on Willard Norris Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.
While entering a left-hand curve, the right-side wheels left the roadway onto the south grass shoulder. Attempting to steer back onto the roadway, she lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and came to rest in the tree line on its wheels facing northwest.
Barnes was not wearing her seatbelt, according to the report, and alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
