MILTON — Here are highlights involving area students:
Honor society selects Santa Rosa residents
Three local residents recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, purportedly the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Tyler Ueberschaer of Gulf Breeze was initiated at University of Florida.

Emily Russell of Jay was initiated at University of South Alabama.

Rachel Short of Pace was initiated at University of South Alabama.
These residents are among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.
Just the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
Troy announces Provost’s, Chancellor's Lists
Troy University has announced students who have been named to the Chancellor's List for Term 1 of the 2017-2018 academic year.

Full-time undergraduate students registered for 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0 qualify for the Chancellor's List.
Term 1 includes students at Troy's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with teaching sites outside of Alabama and online.
Troy University also has announced students named to the Provost's List for Term 1 of the 2017-2018 academic year.

Full-time undergraduate students registered for 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65 qualify for the Provost's List.
Gulf Breeze resident joins Wheaton wrestling team
Wheaton College student Gregory Manfredi of Gulf Breeze was named to the 2017-2018 Wheaton Thunder wrestling team roster.
Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
Wheaton College, in Wheaton, Ill., is a coeducational Christian liberal arts college.
