Navarre man charged with drug possession

NAVARRE — On Nov. 15, just after 10 p.m., the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a robbery. The location of the incident was on the 3000 block of Barlow Road in Navarre.

Deputies arrived on scene and the suspect was not located. No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a black male, 6 feet, 3 inches tall, 230 pounds, and wearing grey shorts, a black hoodie, black sneakers and a small firearm.

During the robbery investigation, deputies observed a vehicle quickly approaching them.

The vehicle swerved around marked sheriff’s office patrol cars and came to an abrupt stop next to deputies. Troy Alexander Duncan allegedly exited the vehicle, according to a sheriff’s office media release.

In plain view to deputies, there was a large mason jar full of marijuana sitting in the back seat, according to the release. Duncan was immediately detained.

Further investigation led deputies to find a total of 11 full mason jars of marijuana, a bag full of Xanax pills and a bag containing strips of LSD, according to the release.

Duncan was arrested and transported to the Santa Rosa County jail where he was issued a bond of $59,500. He was charged with 12 counts drug equipment possession, one count marijuana possession, one count controlled substance possession without a prescription, one count marijuana possession with intent to sell or deliver, and one count hallucinogen possession.

The robbery remains an active investigation.
